Part Deux

Imagine magma and a volcano; that pretty well describes what is going here. I have had a few minor eruptions over the years but it looks like the big one has arrived.

I mean really, take a look around.

Ok, so I have a pretty unique perspective into men and their little society. I lived with 4 of them for a couple of decades. I have been surrounded by them my entire life. The ratio of men to women in my life has been 6:2.

Ever notice everything in life contains some aspect of their divining rods. With women at the receiving end. Take that as you wish. Women understand what I mean.

Trying to stand on equal footing with the lovable dolts is nigh impossible. Give you an example; years ago, I took a graveyard shift job as a shipper/receiver so I could be home to look after my kids during the day. Secondary was to prove to the boys that women were more than able to do the same job as a man and do it well.

I had to prove myself and man, did those guys make me prove myself. Eventually, they realized that I could do the job and I was not there as a token. Grudging respect. Although I was still forced to use hand jiggers more often than not because THEY had the forklifts. Try hauling 800 lbs of frozen orange juice piled 6 feet high on a skid, with a hand jigger in a trailer where the floor is covered in ice because THEY were using the forklifts to remove 300 lb skids of cakes.

Regardless of their eventual grudging respect, I found out that I was often sent into trailers or to do the fish, (fish came in Styrofoam boxes that leaked water all over the offloader, creating the infamous wet T-shirt thing, because of the effect of extreme cold on female breasts.

Kind of fills you with admiration for the superior sex, doesn't it?

Recently, I had the audacity to question the authority of a man in certain areas.
(I know, I know, shock, horror and disbelief). With the usual outcome. Women will understand the usual outcome. I'm a controlling, man-hating bitch who has to run the show.

What is this preoccupation with gender? What possible difference does it make to an I.Q.? Unless of course, there is a sense of being threatened. That would go to explain much of what has gone on in humanity's history.

Ever noticed the scorn heaped on the concept of the hen party? I have never been to a hen party. I have had coffee/drinks with people of the same sex on occasion but it certainly did not qualify as this legendary hen party.

When women meet together it's a hen party.

What is it called when men meet? A cock party? No. Men meeting together is somehow above reproach, above a pun or a demeaning joke.

Men give themselves ostentatious labels, their parties are:

Secret societies
Priesthoods
Lodges

Whereas we poor, intellectually handicapped gaggling females have hen parties.

What goes on when a woman tries to rise above? She is an iron plated bitch. She is a dyke. She is a man-hater.

What if she likes sex? I mean, actually enjoys it. Has more than one partner?

Why, goddam it! She's a whore, she's a slut.

And a man who likes sex? Has more than one partner?

Why, he's a 'player.' He's a god. Even if he is married, even if he has made that promise and subsequently breaks his oath to his wife?

He's still a god. Break an oath to a woman? No big deal. Break an oath to a brother? Holy crap!! Hell to pay folks! Hell to pay.

And that hasn't changed in all of our history. The double standard remains as firmly entrenched in society's psyche as it has ever been.

You know what ladies?

I think they are afraid of us somehow - on some very elementary, possibly Freudian level. The hand that rocks the cradle, remember?

The behaviour of society toward women - has been one of the bully and what motivates the bully? Low self-esteem. Fear. Feeling lesser than.

They have to shout louder, they have to act tougher and they have to find someone to subjugate. I know this is a terrible generalization and not all men are bullies but guys, let's face it - the bullies outrank the intelligent members of your gender 1000:1. We've come a long way baby? Not when you sit down and think about it, we haven't.
